何十年も前のお話。ある人里から遠く離れた無人島で新しい生き物が発見されました。いたずら好きのその生き物は全てにおいてまだ謎が多く大きな研究所で調べるため都会に搬送が始まったが、搬送中に車が事故に会い、その荷箱が飛び出し町にその生き物は逃げ出してしまった・・。その生き物の名はＢＯＯ（ブウ）。ＢＯＯは気分や雰囲気で身体の色を変え、いろいろといたずらをしでかします。
